Can’t get enough of Cassandra Clare?

If you’re a massive Mortal Instruments/Infernal Devices fan, you’ll know what I mean when I say that Magnus Bane has got to be up there as one of the most interesting and funny characters in Cassandra Clare’s novels. Now, because there has been so much fan interest in Magnus Bane’s character, Clare has co-written The Bane Chronicles, a series of short stories about the adventures of our favourite glittery warlock.

Cassandra Clare has teamed up with YA writers Sarah Rees Brennan and Maureen Johnson to write and release (initially in ebook form) a new short story in the series every month until the release of the City of Bones film. The short stories will then be collated and released in print form in 2014. Excitement!

If you’ve got a kindle and you want to purchase the first story, it’s called What Really Happened in Peru and you can buy it for a few dollars through Amazon.

If you do download and read some of the stories, let us all know what you think by posting a comment!

Welcome to Term Two!

Hi everyone – welcome back! I hope you all had a smashing break; I hope there was lots of reading involved! Now that the weather has started getting colder, it’s a great time to curl up in your onesie (what? onesies are awesome!) and get lost in a good book.  Once again, I read a selection of great novels over the hols, so keep an eye out for book reviews in the coming days!

Yep, everyone loves a onesie.

So, what’s the haps, you ask? Well, we’ve got lots of stuff going on this term. Come on into the library to check out our latest displays and play with the new Oliver system. Some of you have already noticed when searching the catalogue that it looks a bit different this term! We’ve upgraded our system, and there are heaps of new features for everyone to play with, including reviews, ratings and book recommendations and alerts. Don’t worry, we’ll tell you all about it soon enough!

The other thing that’s happening soon is our celebration of Shakespeare’s birthday on 23rd April. We’ll be celebrating the Bard’s birthday with performances of scenes from his plays, a dress up pageant, music and the launch of my Shakespeare website! I have a cheeky Bard related t-shirt to wear on the day – looking forward to it!!

Happy Reading! Ms White 🙂
